Phelan, CA (May 24, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in an incident that took place in Phelan on Thursday evening, May 23rd. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Johnson Road, just north of Coyote Road.
According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old man was struck by a 2008 Ford Mustang that was traveling southbound on Johnson Road. The pedestrian, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mustang driver, a 23-year-old man from Phelan, was not injured in the crash. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. The road was closed while the accident remained under investigation. Motorists were asked to avoid the scene and to find alternate routes of travel.
