Hesperia, CA (March 4, 2024) – Authorities in Hesperia responded to the scene of a serious two-vehicle accident on Monday, March 4th. The collision took place just after 2:00 p.m. on Mariposa Road near the intersection with Maple Avenue.
According to a report from the scene, a black four-door Oldsmobile Acura was traveling southbound on Mariposa Road. At the same time, a black 2007 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle was traveling northbound on Mariposa. The female driver of the Oldsmobile made a left turn in front of the oncoming motorcycle, causing a collision between the two vehicles. The impact forced the motorcycle off the road and it then collided with a Jeep SUV that was parked at a nearby business.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and treated the motorcyclist for critical injuries. The rider was then airlifted to Desert Valley Hospital before being taken to a trauma center. After the crash, the Oldsmobile driver was administered a field sobriety test. She was then arrested under suspicion of impaired driving. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
