Newhall, CA (March 12, 2024) – Police in Newhall were called to the scene of an injury accident on Monday, March 11th. The crash occurred at the interchange of the 5 Freeway and the 14 Freeway.
According to a report from the scene, a CHP officer attempted to make a traffic stop on Interstate 5. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and began traveling northbound on I-5. As the suspect exited onto Calgrove Boulevard, the fleeing vehicle collided with a truck. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene. A suspect inside the truck was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The identity of the victim has not been identified at this time. Police have not said what charges are expected to be filed at this time. An investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available.
